Terms of Service

Welcome to Choremon! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Choremon application and website (collectively, the "Service") operated by mTargets Maciej Grabek ("we," "our," or "us").

Choremon is a family chore management application where children earn virtual coins by completing chores and use them to grow virtual pets called "Mons."

Legal Agreement

By creating an account or using Choremon, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service. For users in the European Union, this agreement is subject to your statutory rights under EU consumer protection laws.

Please also review our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use your information.

Parent Accounts:

  Age Requirement You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create a parent account.
• 
  Family Management Parent accounts can create and manage the family, add child profiles, create chores, and configure rewards.
• 
  Parental Responsibility You are responsible for all activity under your account and any child accounts you create.

Child Accounts:

• 
  COPPA Compliance Child accounts are created by parents and do not require an email address, in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
• 
  Login Method Children access their accounts using short-lived, one-time codes generated by their parents.
• 
  Parental Consent By creating a child account, you (as the parent) provide verifiable parental consent for your child to use Choremon as described in these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

When you create an account, you agree to:

  Accurate Information Provide accurate and complete information during registration and keep it updated.
• 
  Account Security Maintain the security of your password and login credentials. Do not share your account with others outside your family.
• 
  Unauthorized Access Notify us immediately at contact@choremon.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
• 
  Child Supervision Supervise your children's use of Choremon as appropriate for their age and maturity.

Choremon features virtual coins ("Coins") and virtual pets ("Mons"):

Virtual Currency Terms

Coins have no real-world monetary value. They are earned through completing chores and can only be spent within Choremon on virtual items, Mon training, and family-configured rewards.

  No Real Value Coins and Mons are virtual items with no cash value and cannot be exchanged for real money, goods, or services outside of Choremon.
• 
  Non-Transferable Virtual items cannot be transferred, sold, or traded between accounts or to third parties.
• 
  No Refunds Virtual currency spent within the app cannot be refunded or reversed.
• 
  We May Modify We reserve the right to modify, manage, or eliminate virtual currency and items at any time, with reasonable notice when possible.

Family Rewards:

Parents may configure real-world rewards that children can redeem with Coins (e.g., extra screen time, treats). These rewards are entirely managed by parents, and we are not responsible for fulfilling any real-world rewards you configure.

Choremon offers both free and premium subscription tiers:

• 
  Free Tier Basic features are available at no cost with certain limitations.
• 
  Premium Subscriptions Premium features are available through monthly or annual subscriptions processed via Stripe.
• 
  Auto-Renewal Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• 
  Cancellation You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Access continues until the end of the paid period.

Refund Policy

Subscription fees are generally non-refundable. However, EU consumers have the right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days under the Consumer Rights Directive. To request a refund, contact us at contact@choremon.com.

Price Changes: We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days notice. Price changes will apply to the next billing cycle after the notice period.

Choremon may generate personalized bedtime stories for children using AI technology:

  AI-Generated Audio Story text is pre-written by humans. Audio narration is generated using third-party AI text-to-speech services (FalAi). While we strive for high-quality narration, AI-generated audio may occasionally have imperfections.
• 
  Parental Oversight Parents can review generated stories and should supervise their children's use of story features.
• 
  Your Content Any content you provide (e.g., child names, preferences) remains yours. You grant us a license to use this content solely to provide the Service.

Content Guidelines:

Do not use Choremon to create, upload, or share content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these guidelines.

You agree NOT to:

  Violate Laws Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws.
• 
  Harm Others Harass, abuse, or harm other users or attempt to access other users' accounts.
• 
  Interfere with Service Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the proper functioning of the Service.
• 
  Reverse Engineer Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
• 
  Automated Access Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access the Service without our written permission.
• 
  Exploit Virtual Currency Exploit bugs or glitches to gain unfair advantages or accumulate virtual currency inappropriately.

The Service, including its design, graphics, Mons characters, animations, and content (excluding user-provided content), is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

• 
  Limited License We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial family use.
• 
  Mons Characters All Mon characters, names, and designs are our intellectual property. You may not use them outside of the Service without permission.
• 
  Restrictions You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

Choremon uses the following third-party services:

• 
  Stripe For payment processing. Your payment information is handled according to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• 🤖
  FalAi (Text-to-Speech) For audio narration of stories. Story text (including child's name) is sent to FalAi for TTS processing. Subject to FalAi's Privacy Policy.
• 
  Google OAuth For optional social login. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services. We encourage you to review their terms and privacy policies.

Service Provided "As Is"

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

Limitation of Liability:

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

• Your use or inability to use the Service
• Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers
• Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the Service
• Any bugs, viruses, or similar issues transmitted through the Service

EU Consumer Rights: These limitations do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under EU law, including rights related to non-conformity of goods or services.

  By You You may delete your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Upon deletion, your data will be removed according to our Privacy Policy.
• 
  By Us We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if required by law. We will provide notice when possible.
• 
  Effect on Virtual Items Upon termination, you lose access to all virtual currency, Mons, and other virtual items. No refunds will be provided for unused virtual items.

Survival: Sections relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law survive termination of these Terms.

We may modify these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes:

  Notice We will notify you via email or through the Service at least 30 days before changes take effect.

  Updated Date The "Last updated" date at the top will be revised.
• 
  Acceptance Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service and delete your account.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Poland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the courts of Poland, unless you are an EU consumer, in which case you may bring proceedings in your country of residence.

EU Consumers: If you are a consumer in the European Union, you benefit from mandatory provisions of consumer protection laws in your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms affects your rights under those laws.

Online Dispute Resolution: The European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
